Deborah was born in Canada but has lived in Dubai since 1989. Deborah began her lifetime career in arts in Canada, where studied Interior Design at Fanshawe College School of Design, and later worked as an Interior Designer and Graphic Artist. She has been an active member of the Dubai International Art Centre since 1992, where she currently teaches Etching Techniques. Deborah works in other mediums as well such as hand-building pottery, silk painting and photography. However for the past several years printmaking has been her passion, focusing mainly on Intaglio Etching and Embossed Etching, utilizing the versatility of the Bedouin heritage, carrying its richness through to the finished piece of art. Deborah has participated in numerous art exhibitions in Dubai over the past 14 years, and won many awards.Deborah's artwork is currently hanging in selected commercial spaces, as well as in numerous residences in the Emirates. Merging her background in interior design and her love for printmaking, Deborah enjoys the challenge of custom printing her etching designs to perfectly match the colour scheme of any interior. She is often seen printing her collection of etchings, experimenting with the beautiful handmade papers available on the Dubai market, creating one-of-a-kind prints.
Deborah Boussaad will be exhibiting her Limited Edition Etchings at Basta Art Café (Arabian Ranches) from April 1st - April 30th.
