Sculpture (6-8yrs)

Basic Information

The course will help children develop their fine motor skills and the use of their fingers to explore different shapes and textures. Along with developing technical skills with ceramic clay, children will be able to use their imagination and creativity while working on various projects.
The course aims to give the students basic knowledge of clay art and the opportunity to be expressive and creative. The course will also focus on the differences between two and three dimensional art,as well as the techniques and procedures for creating clay sculptures and hand built pottery.

Skills taught: Basic anatomy, form and composition, knowledge of the material, sculpting skills, working with paints and glazes.

Projects: Each class will begin with a brief insight into the history of art: an introduction of various artists or art styles. Projects will be discussed in the class to encourage the ability to form and express ideas and opinions.
Sculptures will be photographed by the teacher for display.

Material Required

Students should bring an apron or an old shirt to protect their clothes.
