We offer courses in the arts for all ages and abilities. These include drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, Photography and Graphic Design including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDsign (on your own laptop). We also offer music, language, art appreciation and creativity classes. A full list appears below.
All our courses are researched, structured and focused on developing one or more aspects of a student's skills. At the end of each set of integrated courses students are asked for their feedback to ensure needs are met and value delivered.
At all times we are aware that each student has different capabilities, needs and expectations so we try to blend the fun of creativity with the learning required to progress.
The Art Center's creative and teaching staff combine qualifications and experience within their specialisation. Details of each teacher are available with course outlines. Many of our teachers are recognised as leading local authorities on the arts and exhibit regularly.
Durations and Timings
DIAC operates three 12 week sessions commencing in September, January and April. Sometimes courses operate without a break throughout the year where teaching staff are available. Traditionally the Art Center uses the Summer Months (July and August) to offer indoor art and creative courses for young children on School vacations.
Courses are available in the mornings 9.30, afternoons 1.30 and evenings 6 and last three hours.
